Phacops is a genus of Trilobite that lived through the Ordovician period (approx 485 MYA) and went extinct at the end of the Devonian period (approx 360 MYA). They are most distinguished by their eyes, which are set farther apart and compounded of several large and independently set lenses that gave them the ability to have 360 degree vision (also called schizochroal eyes). In present times, these fossils are most commonly located in North Eastern United States and Europe.
