Stibnite is one of those minerals that barely feels real. With its sleek lead gray color and blade like metallic crystals, it often grows in dramatic sprays that look like something pulled straight from a sci fi landscape. Chemically, it is antimony sulfide (Sb₂S₃) and serves as the primary ore of antimony, giving it both visual impact and geological importance.
Toxicity Note:
Stibnite contains antimony, which can be toxic with prolonged exposure to dust. A solid specimen sitting on your shelf is completely safe to enjoy, but we recommend washing your hands after handling, keeping it out of reach of little ones, and as always… this is one specimen best admired, not tasted.
