Chrysocolla is a mineral made of copper silicate (Cu₂H₂Si₂O₅(OH)₄). First mentioned in 315BC by Greek historian Theoprhatus, Chrysocolla literally means gold(chrysos) glue(kolla) and references its first use as a solder for gold jewelry. It has an attractive blue-green(cyan) color and is often found with malachite and azurite. It has a hardness ranging from 2.5 - 7, which makes it a flexible piece in ornamental or jewelry making such as a replacement for turquoise. Druzy Quartz is a layer of microscopic quartz crystals that form to create a sparkle effect from refracting light. It often is found with various forms of quartz or silicate minerals.
