This fossil is the jaw of an adolescent prehistoric cave bear, formally called Ursus Spelaeus. These bears lived during the Pleistocene era (approx 2.5 MYA) and went extinct around 24,000 years ago during the Last Glacial Maximum. Today, Ursus Spelaeus fossils are most commonly found throughout Europe.
