Franklinite is a dense, black, metallic zinc-iron-manganese oxide mineral belonging to the spinel group. Found in Franklin and Sterling Hill, New Jersey, it is now the official state mineral of New Jersey. It typically forms octahedral crystals, is weakly to moderately magnetic and has a Mohs hardness of 5.5ā6.5. These specimen fluoresce beautifully under blacklight, making them incredibly unique!
