Wavellite is a mineral that demonstrates the classic radiating globule crystal habit. It is most often found inside the fractures of aluminous, low-grade metamorphic rocks. They are fibrous crystals with translucent radial fractures or globular clusters ranging from pale green to emerald green. More rarely they grow in chalcedony-like or opaline masses, or stalactic and are unique. It occurs in association with crandallite and variscite in hydrothermal regions and in phosphate rock deposits. This particular specimen grew along crandallite.
