Apache Tears are a sub-variety of Obsidian, often called "Obsidianites". Their formation process is caused by water that is rich in a mineral called Perlite (a volcanic glass) embedding itself into silica-rich cooling lava. It was first discovered in Southern Arizona approximately around the late 1800's. Since then, it has been found in other locations in the United States like Utah and Nevada.
These tumble stones are approximately .75" x .75".
