It's chemical formula is K(Li,Al)3(Al,Si,Rb)4O10(F,OH)2Lepidolite often has scale-like appearance and is found in a rainbow of colors: purple, pink, red, gray and although rare yellow. Contrary to what many believe, lithium is not what produces Lepidolite's impressive pink and red colors- but rather are the result of trace amounts of manganese. Common origins for Lepidolite: Brazil, Ural Mts, California, Madagascar.
