Product description

Baculites are an extinct genus of cephalopods that existed during the late Cretaceous era (approx 65 MYA). Today, Baculites are most commonly identified by a pearly iridescent exterior sometimes including leaf-like patterns. The leaf-like structures seen on the Baculite are called "sutures" which show where the septa meets the chamber wall in the Baculite.
